On the morning of
September 20, COSCO SHIPPING CHILE, the final vessel of six 14100TEU container
vessels built by CHI(Yangzhou) for COSCO Shipping Lines, was named at the No.3
quay. With an L*B size of 335.9m*51m, the 14100TEU series vessel is equipped
with the world's largest capacity-class permanent magnet shaft generator
system, 100% fresh air air conditioning and enthalpy wheel energy recovery
system, and the main engine adopts direct atmospheric air intake to reduce
energy consumption, and a number of advanced technologies that can reduce the
corresponding total carbon emissions by about 5.9%. Combining cutting-edge
technology concepts and sailing experience, the vessel’s sailing speed and fuel
consumption has reached first-class level. The first vessel of this series,
COSCO SHIPPING BRAZIL, was delivered in October last year, and to celebrate the
50th anniversary between China and Brazil, the first vessel held its maiden
voyage to Brazil in March this year in the Brazilian port of Paranagua.
