On
November 3, the repair of PATRICIA OLDENDORFF, a large marine damage repair
project, was completed. In this project, CHI(Guangdong) took 14 days to
complete the replacement of 450 tonnes steel structure. Due
to reefing, Patricia suffered different degrees of damage to the bow of the
hull, the right side bottom plate of No.2 to No.6 compartments. After
undertaking the project, CHI(Guangdong) arranged the first docking of the
vessel in the shortest possible time, delineated the cutting line, and
formulated the segment pre-fabrication plan. Before the second docking of PATRICIA,
the project team organized a special meeting on docking to carry out a special
study on a series of safety control difficulties such as cutting old segments,
leaving roots, transferring, lifting and fixing on square barges, etc. After precise calculation, CHI(Guangdong) designed the
support size and welding position in advance, and strengthened the bow area of
the hull. In the process of hull structure assembly, welding and other
operations, the project team followed the standards and passed the inspection
of hull weld UT and RT in batches. It took CHI(Guangdong) only 14 days to
complete the cutting and replacing of nearly 450 dwt of sea-damaged steel
structure, and won the high appreciation of the customer.
