The repair project for the
Yangguang encompassed critical tasks including full-hull repainting, crane and
hatch cover maintenance, side pillar restoration, and main/auxiliary engine
overhauls. The project faced challenges due to stringent standards, extensive
scope, confined deck space, and frequent overlapping operations, testing the
team's ability to ensure timely, quality-assured, and safe completion. To address these challenges,
CHI(Dalian) implemented proactive measures: Pre-arrival planning: Optimized
workflows and clarified responsibilities through detailed pre-docking
discussions Simultaneous operations: Initiated
deck/hatch coaming high-pressure water blasting and primer coating immediately
after docking Innovative access: Deployed scissor
lifts with partial scaffolding for efficient cargo hold blasting Crane renewal: Executed full
wheelhouse replacement and passed load testing ahead of schedule Before departure, the team worked
around the clock to troubleshoot crane control systems, resolving issues to
fulfill their commitment to alleviate shipowners' concerns. The successful
repair demonstrates CHI(Dalian)'s capabilities in complex multi-tasking
projects under constrained conditions.
