On
June 25th, the first 64,000 DWT bulk carrier (Hull No. N1236) built by CHI
(Zhoushan) for COSCO Shipping Bulk successfully completed all sea trials and
returned to port. This marks a critical milestone in the construction phase,
laying a solid foundation for on-time delivery.
The
vessel has an L*B size of 199.9m*32.26m, with a design draft of 11.3m. Designed
by CHI Design & Research Institute, it meets EEDI Phase III requirements,
smart ship standards, and cybersecurity rules. Its "METHANOL READY"
design will help reduce operating fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
The
trials commenced on June 22nd. Key tests, including speed measurement, EEDI
verification, and autopilot performance, were completed efficiently according
to specifications. All systems performed stably, meeting design requirements
and gaining owner and class approval.
Work
is now underway to finalize the vessel and address trial feedback, ensuring
high-quality delivery.
