On November 11, CHI (Dalian) held a sailing ceremony for the 12th FPSO Sangomar, a giant offshore oil processing plant which was refitted for Mitsui Offshore & Development Company of Japan.

The FPSO has an L*B*D size of 372m*58m*31m, with a maximum operating depth of 1,300m and 1.3 million barrels of crude oil storage capacity. It can also produce 100,000 barrels of crude oil per day, 1.3 million cubic feet of gas per day, 145,000 barrels of water injection per day. It will be working at the Sangomar oil field in Africa. The project integrates processing, storage and offloading, accommodation and can operate in the oil field for 20 years without docking for maintenance.

In recent years, CHI (Dalian) has refitted a total of 16 FPSOs, achieving a technological leap from hull structure repair to module construction and full ship integration. The FPSO refit products have won the Science and Technology Award of the China Shipbuilding Society and the first prize of Liaoning’s excellent new products.
