On the morning of 26th July, CHI (Yangzhou) launched the first pure battery-powered container ship N997. This ship is the first 700TEU pure battery-powered container ship with independent design and possesses independent intellectual property rights.
The 700TEU pure battery-powered container ship is the world's first large-scale pure battery-powered container ship for direct river-sea transport, and its battery capacity is the largest in the world. With an L*B size of 119.8 m*23.6 m, this series of vessel is powered by a box-type battery, and adopts electrical propulsion for the whole voyage. The preset battery capacity is much higher than that of the existing vessels, and it is in a worldwide leading position in terms of the loading number among the electric container vessels, the deadweight tonnage and the battery capacity.
Many of the ship parts are intelligent, such as integration platform, navigation, cabin and energy efficiency. It can be adjusted to suit the actual needs of ship owners, for example, plan different voyage speeds according to the arrival time, water current, battery capacity, etc.; it has a built-in awareness system to give early alerts during navigation based on the detection of river environment. The intelligent cabin focuses on monitoring the status of the box-type power supply and related matching devices, and the energy efficiency system pays attention to the analysis of the whole ship's energy efficiency.
The 700TEU electric container ship is the world's first large-scale pure battery-powered container ship for long-distance transport, and this series of ships will be commissioned on the Yangtze River route, thus upgrading the low-carbon transformation of the “golden waterway”, provide both the experience and the solution of Chinese shipping emission reduction.
